| One of the most-loved holidays is the Festa Junina (June) or the Festa Julina (July), depending on which is scheduled. The area is decorated with hanging flags that are usually cut from colorful magazine pictures. The people like to dress in country-style clothes, wear heavy makeup and freckles, braided hair and hats. They play games, enjoy traditional hot dogs & sauce in rolls, and have lots of candy choices. Besides Ping-Pong for the youth, the Primary kids had a beanbag toss, and the toddlers chased plastic balls all over. There were lots of food choices. |
Dennis enjoys playing Ping-Pong ("Peengÿ-Pongy") with the young men, who are REALLY good. The ping-ping table is usually kept in the back of the extra-long chapel that doubles as a multi-purpose room. It is left out for play during the week, and only folded up for Sacrament Meetings. It was carried outside for one of the the Festa Julina games.
