This morning, we said good-byes to Elder Pereira (I even got a hug), who will be flying home today, to Santarem-Para, in the northeastern coastal area of Brazil. We gave him a framed, signed U.S. dollar bill he had requested and he gave us little pens that he had put together with outer casings he whittled from bamboo. He has been one of our Young Lions, and our resident computer man, and has helped us so many times. We will miss him very much. Ozair took him to the Mission Office early this morning. Tomorrow, our remaining 3 “sons” will go back to Curitiba and pick up a new 4th “son.” The only thing we know is that he is not a new elder. . .
9/10/2014 - Our new Elder Esty is from New York, and has been in Brazil for one year. That is 5 missionaries from the USA, and Elder Arizola from Peru (poor thing).
