Our second Mission Conference on August 22 in Curitiba was way different than our first one. Elders Arizola and Christenson got a ride for us with Dieniffer, who takes college classes near the stake center where we meet. About 15 miles out of town, we had a flat tire-- on a big mountain incline. With 3 men wanting to help, Dieniffer insisted on doing most of the work. The spare tire was put on--it was flat. We called Wildener, the Grupo leader, who lives closeby, who came with his trusty hand pump, and sent us on our way. Dad filled up her gas tank; we finally got to the Conference 1 1/2 hours late, but safe & excited about lunch. It was our day to feed the Elders, and Elder Pereira's birthday; we got permission to go to the city center to the Ponto Gira Grill, a churrascaría that Elder Christenson knew, with all-you-can-eat-meat. That took 6 bus transfers to get there, 4 transfers to get back--standing almost all the way. Sooo tired, sooo sore. But the Elders loved it. Curitiba is a beautiful city. | |
