We are finished with our five days in the Provo, Utah, Missionary Training Center. Each day has been very intense, frightening and tiring, but incredible. Along with over 100 other senior missionaries, heading to all parts of the world, we have been learning and practicing the Lord's way to work with those who have been prepared to receive his Gospel. Every principle goes perfectly with what the Savior taught. Our favorite part of the day is lunchtime, when we can watch those hundreds of young men and women missionaries from all parts of the world, practicing the new languages they'll be speaking in all parts of the world. We've seen Parker Paramore and Shayanne Root (from Burns) and Braden Holmes (from Salem, UT). We've been joining conversations in Portuguese too---well, Dennis has; I smile a lot and try a few words and phrases here and there.
WE HAVE BEEN DELAYED AGAIN!! We won't be flying out until Mon., May 26, since the Mission President will be out of town this weekend. He wants us to come the same day that 17 young missionaries from USA will fly in from the Sào Paulo MTC. After a moment of silence . . . we had to laugh, because another delay fits so well into this crazy package. Now, what do we do for 11 days as set apart full-time missionaries?! You can say good-bye's only so many times! Oh! I know: We'll hide out & practice Portuguese! This picture is of our paper-chain countdown, that we've started over six times.
