It didn't seem like Christmas at all here. There weren't many houses with lights, and decorations were limited to Santa Clauses and teeny Christmas trees in teeny living rooms. We bought a beautiful poinsettia plant for our Christmas tree, and put lights and ornaments on it. Except in Canoinhas, we didn't see any nativity scenes. I made this little set from wooden blocks, made as a sample for our Grupo Integraçao (social activity); but the electricity went off during a storm, so we couldn't make more. | Now, what do we do with all the wooden blocks we had cut, and fabric, and paint?! I guess we'll do another grupo project in 2015. We placed the nativity set in front of the pulpit in our "garage chapel" for two weeks, then gave it to Amadeus, who seemed to appreciate it. |
Meet Dieneffer, Natália and Cleiton. Dieeffer was baptized last March, is our new Primary President (I'm helping her learn) and is anxious to go to the temple soon. Natália is a very cute, very smart 4-yr. old. Cleiton is super-great guy, who supports and helps us missionaries all the time, has attended church often, but has not excepted the Gospel in his life yet. Dieneffer and Cleiton both attend "faculdade" (graduate school), in bio-chemistry and law, respectively). They own and run a small variety store here in town. We love them dearly, and the love is mutual. |
