After serving as our district leader for 8 months, Elder Christensen would leave the next day, Monday, for Home. Elder Esty had been here 7 months, and was being transferred on Tuesday. The last two weeks were really hard on Elder C. He was sick, but tried to say good-by to everyone in the area. On Sunday, the four elders sang "God be With You" in sacrament meeting while I played--that song is a killer! After church, the Grupo held a big churrascaría at a nice forest home (chákara) of an investigator, a few miles out of town. Their version of a potluck was salads stuffed into rolls, lots of bottled soda, and LOTS of meat cooked over flames, cut into chunks and passed around to everyone. Elders C., you and your family have a standing invitation to visit us in Salem, UT after next November. Remember! | To the left is a picture of our Team of Elders after the last Almoça (lunch) we had together. Elder C. (2nd from the left) was worn out--and sick! |
