Last July, Eduardo (a former Jehovah's Witness, now a strong member of the LDS Church) had a strong feeling that the Lord wanted him and his family to be in Bocaiúva. They made a trip to see the town for the first time, met the Elders, and have spent the last three months making plans to move here from Bairro Alto, Curitiba. Last week they and their girls (Gabriela-7, Camila-5) walked into the church when we were cleaning. We arranged with the Elders to help them move in. Already, Eduardo and Sandra have been a "shot-in-the-arm" for our struggling little Grupo. We have worried that this Grupo would not survive long enough to become a branch. We have prayed and fasted for help; our prayers have been answered, at least in part, with the additions of this one little family. More help will come, as we continue to get closer to becoming an official branch of the Church. Since their coming, we have learned that both Eduardo and Sandy have serious life-threatening health issues. We hope we can in turn help strengthen them in these challenges in their own lives. (To the left, Eduardo is in the light blue T-shirt; Sandra is on far right. Also in the picture are Eduardo and this two brothers and sister-in-law. Below are our four trusty Elders).
