Horses are horses, right? No, we've observed that Brazilian horses are much smaller than horses in the States. Men riding on their horses look over-sized for such small ponies. And their horses are trained to trot very differently than what we've seen in the United States--it's a very fast cantor (?). We are not knowledgeable in the world of horses, so we don't know how to name or describe how they "trot." Our apologies. Be sure to ask to see our video of a cavalheiro (horseman) and his son training their horses in the lot behind our Bocaiúva apartment. I haven't figured out how to insert videos in these posts yet.
