Elders Christensen and Arizola were knocking on doors in a small neighborhood about three miles "east" of Bocaiúva, when they found Francinelli and her 13 yr. old daughter Ingridi. Francinelli has studied the Bible for years, is very well versed on what the Church of Christ should be like, and has for years been looking for a church that meets her criteria. She told the elders that at one time, she died (no details) and found herself in a beautiful place that she thought was Heaven. She was told that it was Paradise, then was returned to her body again to live longer on Earth. She has asked several
pastors and clergy members, who insisted that Paradise is an awful, dreadful place, like Hell. She knew that wasn't true. When the elders began teaching her, she asked them what Paradise was like. She heard the answer she was looking for, and wanted to join the Church immediately. Whenever she was taught a new principle, she answered, "I know. I was taught that in Paradise." Two weeks ago, Francinelli, her mother, and Ingridi walked into town to attend our English class, were thrilled (they continue to attend with much enthusiasm). We were told that Francinelli had struggled with depression for years, and was afraid to join the Church and fail. The Elders assured her that being a member of the Church is exactly what she needs. Last Sunday, Sept. 7, they were baptized, and they will be confirmed Sept. 14. She has asked if she could have a calling. Elder Christensen says she is better prepared than anyone he has ever met. Wildener agreed (!).
